New Hampshire Calm 4. You provided great feedback on this image Bob. I wish that you were with me when I was positioning the shot for the post! We could have shared my internal dialogue! I was struggling whether to include the raft ... whether to include some shoreline .. to avoid simply centering the sailboat. In the end, I chose what you saw. The missing element, and I agree with the recommendation, would have been to have the sailboat entering the image. *slaps head*

Thank you!

Thanks for your nice comment on Eventuality.. I am pleased you liked it.. I hope this is just the beginning.. I was given the program as a gift and am throughly enjoying playing with it.. I have some ideas for refining this image.. It takes a lot longer to do one of these than a photo or fractal..

Thanks Bob for the nice comments on "Old Town".I dont know alot of history of those houses on that street. Most likely built in the late 1700`s or early 1800`s.Not the very old ones from the 1600`s which are few in number..Rob.

My butterfly trio was taken at the Niagara Falls Butterfly Conservatory. I know that you have been to Niagara Falls, I saw the picture. I thought for sure you would have been here. So, you may still be kicking your butt. It is a wonderful place. I can't wait to go again. I did a whole butterfly series while I was there. Several are still posted here at Caedes. There were 10 in all. I removed some of them. My favorite is Tiger Longwing. It is still here. I would love your reaction to it.

Thanks for viewing my Tiger Longwing. You will LOVE the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory. I went with two other families. Two others of the party are also members here. We moms thought our kids would get bored there. They did not. We could have spent a whole day in there. It is climate controled. We went when it was over 90 outside. So, it was the perfect temperature in there, and the butterflies were everywhere. They land on your clothes and if you stand still will land on your fingers. I have pictures of my husband and daughter with them on them. There were thousands. All the kids were enchanted. You here a lot of look, look, and OHHs and AHHs while there.

Hi Robert, thanks for the total essay you wrote on 'Evening at La Mauricie'. I too have been selected for the comments program so know what its about. I agree that it does seem dark, the light wasnt good as the sun had set behind the trees and the water running off onto the right side of the image is an effect caused by the wind coming from the left of the photo and blowing the ripples that way across the lake. Im flattered that you think i have some talent and did take a course in photography a couple of years ago at school but have obviously let it slip. At the minute i have no time to better myslef in my favorite hobby as im in my last year of university and need to work on my degree but will reflect on everything you have said everytime i put my eye to the lens. (id completly forgotten about the rule of thirds althouth im not sure what else i could have done with this particular view). Anyway, as i said im grateful for your constructive comments. Thanks for taking the time to do that for me :)

Hey Bob...thanks for your comments on CityScape 6. I was actually drawn BACK to take this shot on a second day in Vancouver. The first day was dark, dreary and rain. A wonderful walk indeed. Rounding the corner I was presented with this unusually colorful ship resplendent against the gray surrounds. It stuck in my head and I needed to return to capture it with camera. I would have liked to have had a 'little' different angle on it but drat .. I would have needed a rope to get the shot I really wanted. Such is the way at times. Glad you liked the shot and took the time to comment. Always appreciated.

Kind regards,

Rob

Thank you so mych for you comment on Finely Tuned.. I am not sure how I make the fractals.. I just do it.. I try to find shaps and colors that work together.. They are really lots of fun and a big challenge.. Discovering how to make teh gems was wonderful.. Not every fractal works with one.. Right now it is hard to get out to do any photography.. I tried at the grocery, but their lighting is so bad, I never seem to be able to correct it.. Right now I am working on the Joker for the Caedes Deck project.. Taking photos of a doll covered with irredescent sparles is a challenge.. One submission already.. I just am not comfortable leaving Mom alone for very long, so anything I do has to be done where she is.. We are supposed to get some snow in a couple of day sso Iam hoping for some pics of that..

Hi Bob,

Yes, I am at the U of Mo; good old Mizzou. I love it so much that I've changed my major three times. ;) I imagine I'm likely going to end up with an interdisciplinary A&S degree. I've got like 168 hours, and not enough of any one thing for a "real" degree. Minor in anthro, but what can a girl do with that?

I've managed to keep myself from tumbling too far down into the party scene; I'm more into the fine arts than the bar arts. ;D But one can catch me down at the Vu or McNally's on the weekends.

BTW, I really enjoy your work -- you've got some beauties in there, the Bristlecone Pine being just one. The Antelope Canyon pics are very evocative -- I love how you captured (as Emily Dickinson would say) the "certain slant of light".

Namaste!
Jamie

Thanks Bob .. for you kind comments on my posting 9-wire. A simple shot and if taken with other settings would have been another, less interesting and invoking, picture. I'm glad we share the view that it was worth posting.

Thank you kindly my friend,

Rob

Thank you for your comments about Fallen. I am a landscape painter and am now learning how to get more out of my photos. In the past I used my photos for oil paintings and to much color would be lost in my interpation. People such as yourselfs have been inspiring to a painter who is only playing with another form of art. I have taken advice and learned and still are learning. Thank you.

Hey, thank you for your comment on Monticello! I really appreciate it, especially from an esteemed photographer like yourself =D. Thomas Jefferson really was an amazing man...the trip in which I took that picture taught me so. Once again, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Hey Robert,
Thanks for the positive feedback on my capital hill photo. And for the heads up on the limitations of a processing fix to the overexposed part of the photo. I think you are right, the photo works as it is and doesn't need fixing. It is certainly my favourite of the five I've uploaded here so far.
Peace,
Mikel.

I am pleased to look at all your works and I am quite impressed. I see you are no novice to the camera unlike myself. Your information with your pictures is most appreciated and I have enjoyed seeing them as well as reading the comments about them. I'm glad your shooting those lovely and thoughtful compositions.

Woohoo.. nice to see a comment from you on one of my pics, newbie that I am! (at photography anyway). 'La je reste' was a play on words. In French it means "here, i stay/rest" which is one meaning, but when pronounced out loud it also sounds like Lazarus (from the bible). The latter meaning was the first one that hit me when I was inside.. Lazarus' tomb. La je reste. Cheers to you and Annie!! - Quiet

Thanks Robert for putting "Look Up" in to your favarites. I have really enjoyed looking at your pictures. They are so great and I believe if I study them I might just get some of you experience to rub off on me.

Hi Bob, you left a note of thanks on my user page and a question on whether I'll be taking more. Yes, is the short answer. When? I don't know - it will just be when it hits me. I'm not versatile like you photogs are! I noticed you added me as a friend tho, so you'll see when. You are already in my friend list as well :-) cheers, Quiet

It's me again :-) The concept of Depth of Feel was Rob's and he also took the first picture. It was me that did the manipulation (getting the image reproduced inside the camera's view finder (there are two of these in the pic). And of course the title was just a play on words, as is my way! Hope you get to see his Wax My Seat series. We visited Port Colborne and managed to catch these motorcross crazies doing their thing. Can't say where they'll be in 10 years from now, but for now those guys are AMAZING. Somewhere their moms are having sleepless nights though thinking of their lil kids throwing themselves in the air like that, eh? Hello to Annie for me (and Rob too). We are well here.. I'm glad to see you posting and writing too.. even if it is challenging. Bye for now, Quiet
