Raindrops Resting was a case of me not having much choice, soft was the only *style* direction I could go with the raw material I had. I'm very much a "sharp" guy so I'm less than entirely satisfied with the result but I think it was the best I could expect from what I had. The Parliament is a HUGE building, a whole hill actually, it is the reason Canberra exists at all and everything is designed around it. It's not the best photo, the old parliament is over exposed, but I wanted the companion shot to the Commonwealth place right away and this was the best I could find.

Glad you liked the Wattlefrost. I'm still working out the macro functions on my camera and still trying to work out the depth of field issues in macro, which seems to me to be the key to getting the best macro shots, controlling what's in focus and what's not, precisely. I'm not on top of it yet but every now and then one turns out ok. :)

Yeah, not many pedestrians. LOL. Just a fluke, I was shooting across the main street, lots of pedestrians there, I had to keep waiting for people and cars to not be in the shot in the mid/foreground but few were going up that sidestreet, lucky me.

thanks for commenting on "Grasses". this was taken at the ocean just after they had had a wind storm that snapped full grown trees down, so i think the calm look is due to the after math effect that bad storms have.
