Here, in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn begins in 5 days. I had the Art Nouveau women of Alphonse Mucha in mind when I drew this. The woman is Autumn. And her long, flowing, blowing hair represents the wild, playful, mischievous winds of Autumn. Thank you for looking!

Excellent shadows on her face and hair, Lisa. It translates well as a large thumbnail but a little soft at full size. Of course, that may easily be from the Caedes adjustment (it has happened to me a few times). Don't misunderstand--it's well-done (from a long-time artists point-of-view).

The softness in her face was intentional, Nik. That's the way I drew her. It reflects the Art Nouveau style of the period.

I did, however, differ from the style in that I used softer, less bold, more shadowy outlines than were traditionally used in Art Nouveau.

Artist's prerogative!

I looks as if Autumn (The woman) is blowing away those leaves!...
Superb work and certainly a keeper.

What a pretty image. The young lady and the autumn leaves so well done. Her soft skin with just a touch of blush looks so nice and the whole idea of the flying autumn leaves and her billowing hair give this image that special credit that it deserves. 10/10 for this Lisa.

Lisa, Art Nouveau is called in Germany, Norway, Denmark, and my country (Holland) 'Jugendstil' as well.
Art Nouveau/Jugendstil is used in glass art, books, platelets, jewelry, furniture, architecture, and painting.
To me your wonderful artwork belongs to the latter category. It visualizes in a perfect and symbolic way the Autumn. The by you chosen colors are very appropriate for this season as well.
High level art! S+F. Thanks!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Highly reminiscent of the famous M.C. Escher drawing Woman's Face Turns Into a Carp. Or something like that. Anyway, Autumn is quite spectacular and her wild blowing hair is going to need a really deep cleaning to get all that plant matter out. Maybe a vacuuming.

Laughs at "Woman's Face Turns Into a Carp". Too good!

Hands Autumn a bottle of Dyson conditioner. Vacuum, lather, repeat ...
