tigger3: This so different coming from you Mr. B. good one! tigs=^..^=

LynEve: Intriguing ! - makes us want to see more and wonder what they are doing there in front of the crooked trellis. A Barbeque? A working bee? A garden tour?

Light trails on M66 by stylo

Nikoneer: Well, Chris, I'm not so sure this is a "breaking the rules" photo as far as the art and craft of photography is concerned, but only as the law is concerned. Whatever the case, I absolutely love light trail photos ( like this one, this one, and this one), and this one is exceptionally well done and shows a real talent. A copy is going in my monitor's wallpapers folder, thanks loads! If the c-index was still being used I'd give this one very high marks indeed.

Breaking the Rules by Dunstickin

Nikoneer: When the subject is a landscape, with the elements of the photo in the distance, wide spread, then the rule of thirds probably applies more often than not. Here the main subject is these three people on a bench, a subject you've centered. Since centering pairs well with symmetry, it stands to reason that the foreground, the grass, and the background, they sky, should be centered as well. I think it works well.

Broken Rules by Ramad

trixxie17: I like the composition Raj though it may technically break the "rules"!

Nikoneer: Naaaaaww... he broke the rules during class and now he's being forced to hold his beak to the blackboard. When I was in second grade I didn't get this punishment... I was locked in a closet (but the nun forgot the light switch was on the inside :o).
