1st place
When Worlds Collide by Dunstickin

icedancer: Big Congratulations for the win - way to go

questjester: Incredibly complex and sophisticated image layering woven in there. If you did this while you were "learning", I'm thinking that you really didn't need the class. It's excellent!

2nd place
Cottage Industry by Tootles

purmusic: ooOOoo.. ooOOoo.. you must have read my constructive critiquing mind!

Great improvement over the original upload.

In a nutshell..

The house/home was lost in the original.. to my eyes. Was going to suggest some masking and/or use of a Brush to fade parts to give more prominence.. but, you done already did it now.

Looking at the original once more.. was unaware, and/or the path didn't quite register visually and initially for me. Now, it sets the overall image off well, on the note of strengthening your composition.

Good good stuff.

Colours are in your face nice. (That's a good good thing.)

This is.. lovely. :o)

And..

But, of course.. thanks for creatively persevering and presenting us with this beauty.

And..

Again.. +favs for me.

p.s. But, this time.. it's an amped up +favs. The bestest kind of +favs, doncha know.

3rd place
Going walkabout by gonedigital

Nikoneer: True photo-manipulation is so much more than simply using a texture filter or a piece of software designed to create an effect. I've done a lot of manips in my time, including one I shot of a blue car passing me on a curve in South Dakota's Spearfish Canyon, reproducing the car multiple times from about 6 shots I got of it as it passed. The car was in the open, however, with no trees or iron bars in front of it, unlike this submission of yours. I know precisely what it takes to try a manip like this, taking all the obstructions and different shadows into consideration. This, in my 33-year-photographer's professional opinion, is masterful, and certainly deserves the top position in the contest. Kudos in advance.

Elven Tree by bfrank

corngrowth: A 'fairy tale' creation, Frank.
Perfectly done again, my friend.

tigger3: This is really over the top! Frank once again you really have come up with something so different, with excellent results. tigs=^..^=

questjester: A beautiful, fanciful, imaginative manipulation, Frank! Full of rich colors and pleasantly plump layers of elemental, flowing woodland shapes.
